Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead the Day Service Team taking responsibility for the overall day to day management of the Service ensuring it operates effectively and sustainably in line with best practice
  • To undertake supervision of staff and volunteers
  • To report to the National Day Services Lead on key deliveries of the service and work with other team leaders to effectively deliver safe support services across the community.
  • To work with management to ensure there is a responsive workforce and effective use of resources
  • To work in accordance with the policies and procedures laid down by the Camphill Communities of Ireland, through an understanding of the values and ethos of Camphill and behaving in a way that upholds those values
  • Adhere to legislation and relevant standards and undertake/engage with internal and independent inspections and audits
  • Ensure system and processes are in place for effective record-keeping, use of information, monitoring, reviewing and reporting
  • To be the principal communicator for Day Services with all stakeholders, undertake consultation, build relationships and fulfil all reporting requirements of funders and regulators
  • To lead on the implementation of New Directions for the Service
  • Delivery of Safe, Effective Person Centred Supports
  • Development and review of support and training plans and their implementation
  • Ongoing assessment of activities; arranging support for new activities.
  • To support people to achieve valued roles in their lives, be that in personal roles, community, voluntary and career roles.
  • To ensure the implementation of plans set at reviews
  • To promote the safety and wellbeing of all, whilst respecting and supporting the right to independent decision making.
  • To work creatively to deliver an innovative, artistic and culturally diverse programme both within the service and which enables individuals to access mainstream services
  • To build community connections and a network of peer support and friendships.
  • Preparation and monitoring of individual timetables, in consultation with the people involved.
  • Ensuring that plans and support needs are communicated to those involved.
  • Ensure participant’s safety, working within the safety statement and health & safety procedures. Assess risks and oversee the implementation of risk management plans
  • Ensure emotional and behavioural support for distressed or challenged participants is provided and that positive behavioural support plans are implemented.
  • Support employees and volunteers in managing behavioural challenges.
  • Report incidents to and closely work with management in dealing with these issues
  • Foster good relationships with each person and their circle of support and agencies
  • Maintain an attendance record for each participant, including locations attended
  • Maintain an evidence folder and records for each participant
  • Attend further training, both internal and external, as required.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the community and activities.
