Description:

Little Hummingbirds Daycare and OSC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Director to oversee operations, support curriculum development, and guide our Montessori- and FLIGHT-inspired programs. We are a NEW center, opening March 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a licensed childcare facility.
- A valid Early Childhood Educator Level 3 certification (or equivalent).
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Strong knowledge of Montessori pedagogy and/or the FLIGHT framework.
- Proven experience in curriculum development and implementation.
- Excellent organizational skills and a passion for creating efficient, well-structured environments.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and staying current with best practices in early learning.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and teamwork.
- A genuine passion for nurturing young children’s development, confidence, and well-being.

Responsibilities:
As the Daycare Director, you will:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee daily operations, manage staff schedules, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Curriculum Development: Lead the development and implementation of a Montessori-inspired curriculum and the FLIGHT framework, ensuring engaging and developmentally appropriate programming.
- Licensing and Compliance: Ensure the center complies with all licensing regulations, health standards, and childcare best practices, including assisting with licensing renewals and inspections.
- Classroom Setup: Organize furniture, materials, and learning environments to align with Montessori principles and ensure readiness for operations.
- Family and Community Engagement: Build relationships with families, conduct tours, and serve as the primary contact for parents and guardians, fostering open and effective communication.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure staff are trained in first aid and emergency protocols.
- Administrative Oversight: Manage enrollment, billing, and financial reporting, while maintaining accurate records and overseeing the center’s communication systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate programs, gather feedback from families and staff, and implement improvements to ensure the center remains responsive to the needs of the community.
