Description:

The DC Operations Manager - Evening Shift is responsible for the management of the operations on the afternoon and evening shift, ensuring efficient operations in receiving, warehousing, and distribution activities. This role includes managing staff, ensuring safety and security, meeting operational targets, and improving processes to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Must have worked with teams of 125 or more.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in an industrial distribution environment.
  • Capable of addressing issues with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies with strong analytical skills and the ability to report and recommend solutions to challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of the distribution center to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate distribution center staff, including warehouse workers, supervisors, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensure that all operations comply with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards. Investigate and report any safety incidents, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting, stock rotation, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Analyze distribution center operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
