Description:
The dean of the College of Christian Studies serves as the Colleges chief executive officer, modeling intellectual, professional, and theological excellence in the disciplines represented therein. The dean is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the college, including curriculum development and oversight, faculty evaluation and development, the promotion of student recruitment, and community engagement. The dean is in charge of all programs in the college, graduate and undergraduate; Tigerville, Greer, non-traditional, and other locations; face-to-face and online; and other formats. The dean of the College of Christian Studies must maintain active membership in a South Carolina Baptist church that complies in its ethical commitments to NGUs community standards and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, the Chicago Statement on Inerrancy, the Manhattan Declaration, and the Nashville Statement.
The deanship is a public-facing role at NGU, with strong interactions expected relative to local churches and associations, the South Carolina Baptist Convention, the Southern Baptist Convention, parachurch organizations, and other opportunities to represent the universitys ministerial preparation programs. The deanship also includes donor relations and other stakeholder interactions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The dean of the College of Christian Studies must be committed to the mission and core values of North Greenville University. He must be eligible to hold a faculty appointment in an appropriate academic department with a minimum rank of associate professor, with full professor strongly preferred. He must have an earned terminal degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution, evidence excellence in teaching / scholarship, and have a substantial record of successful leadership roles. He must possess outstanding communication skills in writing, speaking, and listening, and have demonstrated skills in program planning, project management, and budget development. He must have considerable experience with curricular matters, policies and procedures, program assessment, as well as knowledge of academic support services and awareness of current trends in higher education in general and Christian higher education in particular. He must also be aware of current trends in theological education. He must be able to handle sensitive situations and information with discretion and demonstrate genuine concern for students academic success..
