The Dean of Graduate and Leadership Studies is the chief executive officer of the School of Graduate Studies. The Dean will provide visionary leadership and coordination for all staff and operations within the school. This includes advocating for graduate programs across the university, enhancing and expanding existing programs, and leveraging external partnerships to bring educational opportunities to a diverse community of learners. The Dean will oversee academic life within the school, including budget management, teaching, research, and personnel matters.

Education:

  • A doctoral degree in a discipline served by the school from a regionally accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably in an online setting
  • Minimum of five years in an academic leadership role, with responsibilities for personnel and budget management.
  • Experience in the intelligence community, cybersecurity, or military is highly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and integration of programs within the School of Graduate Studies, ensuring alignment with the university’s strategic goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and supervision of faculty, promoting excellence in teaching, research, and professional service.
  • Develop and implement school policies, ensuring they reflect the educational priorities of the faculty and department chairs.
  • Serve as an advocate for graduate programs, representing the interests of the university to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee student registration, progress, and compliance with graduation requirements, and handle academic appeals in consultation with department chairs.
  • Formulate and administer the school’s budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively to support academic excellence.
  • Serve as a member of various academic councils and committees, contributing to the broader academic governance of the university.
  • Provide general supervision of department chairs, faculty members, and staff, ensuring alignment with the school’s goals.
  • Extend the reach and brand of the university through strategic partnerships and community engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and oversee processes related to program accreditation and review.
  • Manage all school and university property within the facilities of the School of Graduate Studies.
  • Please note that this position is primarily located in New York.
