Description:

We are looking for a Decommissioning Technologist to support decommissioning activities at CRL and/or NPD. In particular the Decommissioning Technologist will ensure that their actions and reviews address health, safety, security, and environmental requirements of CNL. Storage-with-surveillance requires that routine monitoring, testing, and inspections are performed to schedule to meet or exceed compliance requirements. Decommissioning projects encompass planning, managing and completing large and complex decommissioning projects to the full satisfaction of project Clients and Stakeholders (NRCan, CNSC).
What will you be doing !
Supporting design, walk-downs, construction, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition as required.
Proposing ingenious, practical and economical solutions to decommissioning challenges;
Researching state of the art equipment and technologies to support decommissioning activities
Evaluating new and existing technologies and providing advice to meet project objectives;
Preparing justification documents for the purchase of capital equipment;
Preparing documents (training, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, decommissioning work plans);
Managing the inventory of assets;
Ability to operate complex or unique field equipment;
Leading and/or monitoring performance of others;
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of specialty equipment and processes to support decommissioning, prepare quality records of observations/analysis, and recommend upgrades/improvements as the technical expert.
Providing input for the development of the annual and strategic plans/budgets for the procurement of capital and non-capital equipment;
Reviewing and providing input to project schedules, project tasks, etc.
Working within a team environment to safely achieve the business commitments.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
