Description:

The duties of a Decontamination Technician at CDU is to reprocess surgical instrumentation to be used in the clinical setting.
Reprocessing of reusable instruments
Washing, checking, packing and sterilising sets and tins to be returned to the theatres.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
The main duties include washing the dirty instruments that have arrived back from theatres both at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital, inspecting and packing the instruments, wrapping the sets and then autoclaving them.
The Technician would then dispatch them to various trollies to be delivered clean and sterile to the theatres.

Responsible for the production of procedure packs and reprocessing of medical and surgical instrument sets including specialist instrumentation.
Ensure that work is performed to an acceptable standard and in compliance with written specifications and procedures
Ensure all items are prepared, assembled and packaged in accordance with defined specifications
Ensure the correct use of the computerised instrument tracking syste
