JOB SUMMARY

The Cyber Defence & Risk (CyDR) team plays an integral role in protecting the UK against external and internal cyber security threats to ensure that our Armed Forces have the strong cyber defences they need. The team is responsible for enabling Defence operations and capabilities, providing specialist cyber security services across UK Defence (including industry) and working our international allies.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cyber Security Policy Manager (Commercial/Supply Chain) works within the Governance, Risk and Compliance team within the Cyber Defence and Risk Directorate and is responsible to the Cyber Security Policy Deputy Head for ensuring:
- The coordination and maintenance of departmental and industry-facing policy and guidance supporting cyber security in the supply chain.
- Engagement with core stakeholders.
- Developing practical and agile policy that is responsive to changes in operational tempo and threat, to drive down cyber security risk in the supply chain, to a level that is consist with the Department risk appetite.

- Maintain understanding of international initiatives to ensure policy meets UK needs but aligns where appropriate, to reduce burden on suppliers.
- Maintain close liaison with key stakeholders across Defence and other government departments, to support wider policy activities.
- Support departmental and wider work, to develop mechanisms to drive continuous improvement and encourage the sharing of best practice in policy development.
