Description:
Valiant Integrated Services has an exciting opportunity for a Defense Travel Administrator. The primary place of duty will be
Headquarters MARFOREUR/AF, though the place of duty may be at other locations. The ODTA supports the AC/S for Resources (G8) as the responsible individual responsible for the administration of DTS at the organization level and assists the organization’s Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) with overall DTS administration for the site. The ODTA reports to G8 for mission-related assignments and tasking.

- Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint. Prior experience as a Defense Travel System (DTS) routing or approving official preferred.
- The position is not eligible for independent SOFA status in Germany. Local hire applicants with dependent SOFA status from spouse’s qualifying U.S. military, government, or defense contractor employment are strongly preferred, but applicants with current Ordinarily Resident (OR) status in Germany may also apply
Responsibilities:
- Establishes or oversees the establishment of the organization routing structure for approving and certifying travel.
- Facilitates check in and check out procedures for all MARFOREUR/AF Headquarters personnel.
- Establishes and maintains local business processes, remaining current on all DTS changes.
- Meets requirements outlined in the Marine Corps Inspector General Checklist.
- Maintains traveler profile information (mailing addresses, phone numbers, security clearances, government travel charge card numbers, banking information).
- Generates and processes ODTA reports outlined in MCO 4650.39A, notifying Command weekly of unsubmitted vouchers.
- Initiates and maintains DD577 appointment letters and training certificates for submission to the Tier II helpdesk.
- Provides “T-Enter” capabilities for travelers who cannot access DTS due to location.
- Reports problems to the Travel Assistance Center (TAC) and following up on fixes.
- Develops and executes training strategy for ODTAs, AOs, and travelers, to include classroom training.
