Gen2 was established in 2000 and specialises in the Engineering, Nuclear, and Manufacturing sectors. In May 2017 Gen2 joined City & Guilds and became a City & Guilds business. Gen2 currently operates from 5 training centres across Cumbria and over 150 employees, the vast majority of which are direct delivery staff. Through targeted development of commercial training Gen2 continues to grow its geographic and product portfolio.

ABOUT YOU

This role is a rewarding position with some excellent opportunities for the right individual. We are looking for someone who has relevant industry experience in Engineering. A level 6 degree in an Engineering subject is essential to this role.
We are looking for someone who is a good communicator, proactive, motivated and passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge with our future engineers.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure as well as providing proof of the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

The role of the Degree Apprenticeship Trainer/Assessor is to assess learners against Degree Apprenticeship Standards up to Level 6. The role will include the delivery of coaching sessions to support learners in completion of the Degree apprenticeship. The role will also include the progressive development of Degree Apprenticeship assessment / training material working in conjunction with the Gen 2 Higher Education team, Universities and other assessment bodies.

Through targeted development of commercial training Gen2 continues to grow its geographic and product portfolio. Gen2 has developed many higher level programmes to meet the needs of industry including the suite of nuclear related technology foundation degrees. The quality of teaching and learning is paramount, resulting in Gen2 success rates typically 20% above the national average.

What you will be doing;

  • Assessing Degree Apprenticeship standards up to and including level six.
  • Completing regular learner progress reviews and provide feedback and support to learners on a one-to-one basis.
  • Develop and maintain the current Degree Apprenticeship course material including guidance documents, tracking documents and schemes of work.
  • Assist in reviewing and changing course content and delivery methods to meet curricular needs and offer plans for improvements.
  • To liaise with the client to plan development and assessment opportunities.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures to ensure all relevant evidence of learning is accurately and correctly documented and completed for each learner
  • Assume responsibility for meeting course and learner performance goals.
  • To prepare for and assist in internal and external audits.
