Description:

Location: On site at location listed in job posting.
The DEI Consultant will work alongside leaders as a subject matter expert and partner to help develop customized strategies to advance our 10 enterprise-wide commitments. In particular, this position will focus largely on the community pillar of our strategic plan.

SUMMARY

The DEI Consultant will lead the Community Pillar of our enterprise-wide strategic plan. This will include increasing accessibility and connectivity between our 20+ Associate Resource Groups and those internal partners who engage our community such as marketing, corporate communications, procurement, CRA, and the First Horizon Foundations. A focus will be on expanding outreach efforts in ways that cultivate new-to-bank partnerships with key Centers of Influence such as

  • Military support organizations
  • Disability-support organizations
  • High-tech, high-growth start-up funders, incubators, and accelerators
  • Community and economic development agencies

Although face to face engagement with the aforementioned stakeholders will be key, significant parts of this work will be done via digital engagement. Specifically, we desire someone who is particularly skilled in partnering with others to educate and engage community stakeholders via social selling, social listening and digital technology (email, web, social media, etc).
The DEI Consultant will also increase our company’s collective understanding of best practices in DEI-related community engagement. This will be accomplished in part by curating a library of relevant content from our resource providers (Gartner, Seramount, McKinsey, etc) and sharing them in engaging ways that are easily consumed by our internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

  • 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in digital technology such as email marketing, social media, wireframing, web design, etc.

  • Coursework, training or certificates in DEI-related subject matter.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle complex issues and navigate conflict resolution at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills to handle complex projects simultaneously from start to finish.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to DEI

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Effective consultation and coaching skills
  • Goal setting and planning
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to prioritize the workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • The ability to negotiate and resolve issues
  • Ability to influence others and resulting outcomes, without direct reporting relationships
  • Travel expected, but ability to do so as needed
