The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated, hard-working, proactive DA Data Analyst to help continue our growth within the delegated authority market. This role provides fantastic opportunities in the London insurance market and is a great chance to work with one of our clients, a fast-moving start-up.
What is Delegated Authority?
Delegated Authority is where an insurance company or Lloyd’s Syndicate delegates it’s Underwriting to a coverholder (normally a broker) who then underwrites business on the insurer’s behalf. It currently generates about a third of the London Insurance Markets income at approximately £ 10Bn in premium per annum and is growing rapidly.
Role description
You will be required to work as a DA Data Analyst in their team for a variety of insurance carriers. Much of their work is undertaken in their client’s offices.
The role includes:
- Working as part of our team to understand, improve and deliver projects in the Delegated Authority space.
- Providing Delegated Authority risk, premium and claims data analysis, resolving data queries with clients and improving data quality.
- Providing reporting and insight over the data to underwriters and clients.
- Aiding in the development and implementation of Delegated Authority frameworks, processes and systems.
You will be working within a fast paced working environment with exposure to a wide range of clients with their own way of doing things therefore the desired candidate needs to be highly organised, adaptable and have good communication skills.
Experience and Qualifications
You will have at least one year’s experience as a Designated Authority Data Analyst or in an insurance role that includes Delegated Authority. You must have an analytical and creative mind and be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of business.
Key points:
- Education: Degree educated or with appropriate experience or vocational qualifications
- Experience: ideally at least one year of experience as an Insurance Data Analyst or in Delegated Authority analysis.
- Analytical Skills: Broad based data analysis skills including data mapping, data correction, definition and enhancement.
- Dedication: Proactive, motivated self-starter who can investigate, shape and define client
requirements without daily direct oversight, though oversight can be provided if needed.
- Confident Communication: Ability to engage with business representatives at a stakeholder level.
