Description:
DELICATESSEN/SEAFOOD 2IC
Reporting to the Deli Manager, the Deli 2IC will be responsible for maximizing sales and achieving specified profit margins in the Deli Department whilst managing expenses, stock levels, and staff members. The role is also responsible for meeting the customers’ requirements in relation to price and product range through effective ordering via our SAP system.
The key task areas for this role are:
- Ensure the shop is full, fresh, and appealing throughout the hours of trade, and that stock levels are controlled appropriately. Ensure all appropriate signage is displayed correctly and that the advertised product is displayed meaningfully.
- Maintain a high standard of merchandising and 100% price integrity in the department.
- Coordinate staff to ensure production requirements set for the day are met. Train team members as required.
- Assist Deli Manager in ensuring sales and GP targets for the department are met/exceeded.
- Maintain compliance in the department.
- Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints appropriately and always ensure effective interactions with customers.
- Deputise for the department manager as required.
- Meet food safety requirements.

- Good computer skills proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Word
- 2-3 years’ retail with at least 1 year supermarket experience to supervisory level
