Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager- Reactive and Technical Services, as the Delivery Manager you’ll be responsible for managing the delivery of Zone substation Capital projects for Vector, Northpower networks, and/or other external customers.
This role will require you to support the Operations Manager in the delivery of strategic objectives where you will grow a profitable, sustainable, and competitive contracting business .You will use robust leadership, mentoring , organisational and customer relations skills to lead a skilled and dedicated team of office and field staff.

You will also be accountable ( but not limited) to:

  • Develop and drive improvements in quality, productivity, and safety performance along with strong compliance with HSQE and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all relevant asset management, and construction activities are in accordance with Customer Standards and good industry practice
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers, our customers, management, commercial & operational teams, project managers and design estimators
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with customer timeframes and any delays/variations are proactively communicated
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, reporting, invoicing, and pricing input to the Operations Manager and Commercial Manager as required
  • Actively contribute to ensure the required profitability margins of the capital business are met

To thrive in this role you’ll have industry knowledge with demonstrated know-how in asset management and strong business acumen. You will have a wealth of operational and project management expertise across electrical distribution networks where you can build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with consistency and composure. You will also have:

  • NZ recognized business or business management qualification OR comparable work experience (at least 5 years)
  • Knowledge of managing projects with a relevant certification is essential, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust in a multicultural and multi-skilled environment
  • Good judgment, problem solving and sound decision making under pressure
  • Robust commercial and analytical skills
  • Astute in Performance and Conflict management
  • Tenacity to take problems through to successful outcomes despite potential barriers
  • Ability to foresee challenges, read situations and respond efficiently and effectively
  • Exceptional communication skills and collaborative skills
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Sound financial knowledge and be a strategic, critical thinker
