The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role will be based at any of the following sites Chippenham, Bridgend, Reading, Leatherhead.

Responsibilities:

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Delphi Software Developer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the design, development, and maintenance of our software products, primarily focusing on legacy systems and integrating new features.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, contributing to both back-end and front-end development. Your expertise in Delphi will be essential in optimising our existing applications and ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and usability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Delphi applications.
  • System Integration: Work on integrating Delphi applications with modern systems and technologies.
  • Code Optimisation: Optimise existing codebases to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and fix bugs and provide ongoing support for legacy systems.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of code and system architecture.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Delphi, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming. Familiarity with databases (e.g., SQL) and experience with PowerShell is a plus as well as CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
