Job Description
Summary: Assist in managing the bakery section of the kitchen by preparing and baking a variety of bread, pastries, and other baked goods. Ensure high standards of quality and presentation while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Culinary diploma or relevant qualification in baking and pastry preferred.
  • Previous experience in a pastry or baking role, ideally in a luxury hotel or Michelin restaurant setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients; strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
  • Comfortable to work in fast-paced kitchen environment, which may include exposure to heat and varying temperatures.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation & Baking: Prepare and bake a range of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high quality and consistency in all bakery products; ensure proper presentation and taste.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory of bakery ingredients and supplies; ensure proper storage and rotation to minimize waste.
  • Hygiene & Cleanliness: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices; maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area.
  • Recipe Development: Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items; assist in experimenting with new techniques and ingredients.
  • Team Support: Supervise and mentor junior bakery staff; assist with training and provide guidance to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless service and timely preparation of bakery items.
