Join our team as a Demi Chef at The Star Brisbane.
Our breathtaking resort, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will commence a staged opening in August 2024, bringing a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city.
The roles will report to senior team members within the kitchen brigades, becoming an important part of our pre-opening team. These roles offer the opportunity to produce food items relevant to the delegated Chef’s station to the highest possible standards of quality and presentation whilst meeting established deadlines.

ABOUT US

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.
When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.
Our current property, Treasury Brisbane, showcases old-world opulence of a five-star hotel; the non-stop excitement of Brisbane’s only 24-hour casino; the thrill of live entertainment; the glamour of exclusive fashion events; the tantalising taste of unique restaurants. Treasury Brisbane will transition into The Star Brisbane aligned to an early 2024 opening.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares food in a clean working environment in line with business volumes.
  • Thorough knowledge of the entire menu, including an understanding of all base products and ingredients used.
  • Food is prepared for food presentation, in line with menu requirements and kitchen standards (SOP’s)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and be able to use a broad range of cooking and food preparation equipment and skills, such as sauté, braising etc
  • Be able to perform complex cooking duties and produce a dish/recipe, from a combination of ingredients without supervision and assist mis en place across all sections.
