Description:
Job Summary:
Southern Dental Alliance is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our dentists and providing excellent patient care. You will communicate patient needs and assist with various dental procedures, while also maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent customer service skills, works well under pressure, and is able to multitask effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the dentists are prepared for patient procedures by providing necessary information about the patients’ needs, requests, and other relevant details
- Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatments, working chair-side to provide support as needed
- Make patients comfortable in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and ensure accurate dental records are obtained
- Hand instruments and materials to the dentist, keeping the patients’ mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, and prepare trays for dental procedures
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed
Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and desktop publishing
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Must pass a criminal background check
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Familiarity with dental technology
- Ability to connect with patients and provide compassionate care
- Driven and works with a sense of urgency
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Professional, courteous, and approachable demeanor
- Cerac and Eaglesoft experience is a plus

- Current CPR certification
- Must undergo a post-offer, pre-employment background check
