Description:

Job Summary:
Southern Dental Alliance is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our dentists and providing excellent patient care. You will communicate patient needs and assist with various dental procedures, while also maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent customer service skills, works well under pressure, and is able to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the dentists are prepared for patient procedures by providing necessary information about the patients’ needs, requests, and other relevant details
  • Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatments, working chair-side to provide support as needed
  • Make patients comfortable in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and ensure accurate dental records are obtained
  • Hand instruments and materials to the dentist, keeping the patients’ mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, and prepare trays for dental procedures
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and desktop publishing
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
  • Familiarity with dental technology
  • Ability to connect with patients and provide compassionate care
  • Driven and works with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Professional, courteous, and approachable demeanor
  • Cerac and Eaglesoft experience is a plus

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current CPR certification
  • Must undergo a post-offer, pre-employment background check
