Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and or experienced dental nurse (enrolled on an approved course of dental training) to join our practice.
Gratton House Dental Practice is a family run independent dental practice located in the heart of Cheltenham.
As a Qualified Dental Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality oral healthcare and support to patients. Working closely with dentists and other dental professionals, you will assist in delivering a wide range of dental procedures while maintaining strict professional and clinical standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

A recognised dental nursing qualification and valid registration with the appropriate dental nursing regulatory body.
Clinical experience
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, treatments, and instruments, along with the ability to assist dentists effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, dentists, and the dental team.
Attention to detail, maintaining high standards of accuracy and patient safety.
Knowledge of dental software and digital imaging systems is advantageous.
Understanding of infection control and sterilisation procedures in a dental setting.
Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Ability to work well in a team environment and effectively manage time and resources.

Responsibilities:

Chairside Assistance: Provide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures, ensuring the smooth flow of treatments and assisting with necessary instruments and materials. Anticipate the dentist’s needs and maintain a sterile and well-organized working environment.
Patient Care: Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and providing reassurance as needed. Answer patient questions, address concerns, and provide clear post-operative care instructions.
Sterilisation and Infection Control: Adhere to strict sterilisation and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Prepare and sterilise instruments and equipment, dispose of waste material properly, and ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and materials. Assist in ordering and stocking dental inventory as needed. Keep track of expiration dates and ensure the availability of necessary supplies for efficient clinic operations.
Record-Keeping: Accurately record patient information, treatment details, and clinical notes in the electronic dental records system. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
Patient Support and Education: Provide oral healthcare advice and education to patients, including proper oral hygiene techniques, post-treatment care, and preventive measures. Help patients feel at ease by offering empathetic and professional support throughout their visit.
Professional Development: Stay updated on advancements and changes in dental nursing practices through continuous professional development. Attend relevant training courses, webinars, and professional events to enhance your knowledge and skills.
