Position Summary
Bring excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to the College’s John Andrews Foundation Dental Clinic and Oral Health programs.
Greet and care for all clients/patients to the clinic in a polite and respectful manner;
Handle all inquiries both in person and on the telephone in a polite and courteous manner.
Handle and screen phone calls and walk-ins;
Inform student of client/patient’s arrival;
Book appropriate appointments (new clients/patients, recare, and cancellations);
Maintain a short call list to assist students with cancellations;
Accept and receipt all monies;
Maintain and accurately file records and update information from clients/patients;
File and access student and client/patient files and make appropriate entries;
Assist students with referrals, and transferring of electronic information;
Have clients/patients complete paper work and enter all pertinent client/patient information into practice management software, acquire the necessary signatures;
Provide courtesy calls and reminder calls to clients/patients;
Monitor students during student reception rotation;
Liaising with college staff, Dentists, students, external agencies, and dental/doctor offices in order to assist with questions regarding the dental programs or the operation of the dental clinic;
Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act; and
Maintain client/patient records in accordance with the Personal Health Information Act, 2004, ( PHIPA ) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ( PIPEDA ).

Minimum level of formal education required for the position
1 year certificate or equivalent
Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position
Additional Requirements
Excellent keyboarding skills and proficiency in MS Office, Dentrix or similar Dental Office Software;
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to organize priorities to meet deadlines;
Ability to work as a team member and function independently with minimal supervision;
Experience in a dental setting and knowledge of dental procedures, electronic client/patient charts, scheduling of clients/patients would be an asset.
