SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ensure dental services are provided in accordance with legislation, standards, GEO Healthcare policy and procedures and contractual requirements. (D)
• Supervise the triaging patient referrals for oral health services by the Dental Assistant to ensure patients are schedule for a dental appointment, which is based on clinical need and contractual timeframes. (D)
• Develop and implement oral hygiene therapy plans for patients. (D/OHT)
• Ensure Oral Hygiene Therapy is provided in accordance with legislation, standards, GEO Healthcare policy and procedures and contractual requirements. (OHT)
• Refer patients to a dentist when clinically indicated. (OHT)
• Maintain the dental suite within a GEO Healthcare location consistent with quality efficiency, effectiveness and safe dental practice. (DA)
• Co-ordinates all referrals for oral health services, which includes screening, triage and scheduling of appointments which meets clinical acuity and contractual timeframes. (DA)
• Prepare patients for dental treatment. (DA)
• Pre-set materials and equipment for the required for dental procedures. (DA)

ABOUT THE ROLES

GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria.
The Dentist will work to their full scope of clinical practice in the provision of oral health services, in accordance with GEO Healthcare policies and procedures and legislative and contractual requirements.

Opportunities exist for part-time for 0.3 FTE across two sites - 22.8 hours per fortnight at $91 per hour.
