Description:
The Department Manager, Administration is accountable for the successful day-to-day operation of Financial Services, Front End, Customer Service and Post Office if applicable. This includes implementation of company standards, the management of company assets and the development and training of staff. The incumbent supports the rest of the store management team and fosters positive customer relationships.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
We’re looking for professional, organized workers who have a healthy sense of adventure and a strong knowledge and experience base.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a high-volume grocery/retail environment
- Strong customer service skills.
- Record of bottom line and sales results in previous roles.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both verbally and orally.
- Computer knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of grocery operating principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with a high attention to detail
- Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and superior customer service skills
- Must have the ability and desire to develop an in-depth understanding of Northern/NorthMart customers
- Demonstrates a personal and enthusiastic commitment to Northern/NorthMart’s vision, mission, values and strategies

Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service by delivering on the Value Offer.
- Focus on customer service as a top priority by creating strong customer relationships and providing excellent customer service
- Monitor and adjust customer service levels as needed
- Deal with customer complaints and requests quickly and effectively
- Address and respond to all customer inquiries
- Ensure an enjoyable shopping experience for customers
- Schedule staff to maximize customer service and fulfill business needs
Manage the Office & Front End/Customer Service to maximize profits and protect company assets.
- Complete all necessary customer credit detail for delivery to WFS
- Review customer receivable 2-8 missed list on a weekly basis
- Follow up on delinquent accounts including participation in conference credit calls with WFS.
- Support all Financial Service Programs such as cashing fees, Link Tax, Master Card, etc…
- Fully support and participate in all Financial Service campaigns and P.O.P strategies as directed through Selling Event Binder
- Responsible for maintenance of all POS equipment.
- Supervises Post Office operation where applicable.
- Supervises and schedules cashiers
- Supports all Loss Prevention initiatives.
Ensure that the daily operating disciplines, as described in the Office Manual are consistently met.
- Verifies and cross –checks all daily financial reports. Troubleshoots and follows through on discrepancies.

- Ensure safe is kept on full lock at all times.
- Ensures all money removed or put in safe is recorded immediately in the system
- Ensures that adequate cash is on hand for daily business transactions.
Support, train and develop staff
- Ensure that staff provide outstanding customer service in Office and Post Office and Front End
- Participate as a key member of the store team, providing leadership to store team and support to the Store Manager
- Work with supervisors to recruit, train, lead and develop Office, Front End and Post Office staff.
- Through on-going communication keep staff current with key activities (participate in or lead (Huddle-Ups)
- Supervise, coach and develop Office, Front end , Post Office employees as required
