Description
The Department Manager is accountable and responsible for the safe, reliable operation of an assigned area of the Buckhannon Engineered Wood Products manufacturing facility in Buckhannon, WV. This manufacturing unit is a part of Weyerhaeuser’s Wood Products business.
This position is the expert for safety, operations, equipment and production reliability for the department assigned. This individual provides leadership, support & resources to shift production supervisors & teams to ensure consistent, safe & reliable operation of the equipment. He/She works with the mill leadership team and hourly workforce to provide appropriate prioritization and planning to meet safety, quality and production goals.
The Department Manager champions best practices to improve unit performance and drives root cause analysis of failures in their area. This position partners with the Unit’s Mill Manager, Operations Manager, Environmental Manager, Safety Manager, Maintenance Manager, and other Department Managers on capital and major projects to include design, training, impact support, planning, implementation, and related documentation.
