PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for motivated, caring individuals who want to be part of our team that will play their part in the Government’s drive to cut reoffending through effective rehabilitation; enabling offenders to turn their lives around for good. We will provide a safe, secure environment at HMP Millsike, thus providing reassurance to the public and victims of crime that perpetrators are serving a secure sentence for their crimes.

The knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience relevant to the position are:

  • Experienced in building services maintenance (Apprenticeship or equivalent)
  • Hold, or attain, an appropriate FM/Engineering qualification
  • A Health & Safety qualification – IOSH/NEBOSH
  • Member of relevant industry body (IWFM, CMI, Tech/CMIOSH)
  • Working knowledge of H&S legislation and management in the application of FM Services
  • Experience of in-house and outsourced estates management service delivery, ensuring compliance.
  • Experience within a dispersed, multi-functional, demanding and people focused environment.
  • Experience of managing complex FM contracts
  • Understanding company vision and strategic direction.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both verbal and written, also note taking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivated.
  • Team worker and flexibility within the contracted hours.
  • Computer literate
  • Strong team player and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Intuitive and proactive nature.
  • High moral standards with absolute integrity

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to the Head of FM for the delivery and management of all FM service delivery across the Prison estate. You will be responsible for meeting all statutory, mandatory and maintenance requirements in line with the Authority established baselines and contractual obligations within the approved financial parameters. You will be responsible for the assistance of recruitment, training and on-going support to the on site FM teams. You will need to operate, maintain and manage efficiently with the minimum supervision to specified standards as determined by HMPPS.
