ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a motivated individual who first and foremost possesses a caring attitude towards animals. You should also hold IAT Level 2 (or have relevant experience) and have sound knowledge of ASPA and accompanying guidance notes and recommendations. You also must hold a Home Office license – Modules A & B in rodents and have a good working knowledge of the relevant aspects of other legislation.
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the ability to work independently or as part of a team and have excellent communication, administration and technical skills.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a technician to join the Biomedical Services at the University of Leicester. Your main responsibility in this role will be the management of rodent colonies, and for carrying out procedures for experimental purposes. You will also provide training and assistance to users of the facility, manage complex conventional, transgenic and genetically modified animal breeding programmes as well as carry out various care and welfare duties in accordance with legislative needs.
