As the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA)’s Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Revenue Officer, you will lead our revenue-generating efforts and join us in our commitment to invest in tomorrow’s champions today. This position is a remarkable opportunity to bring your strategic thinking skills, deep understanding of the sports industry, proven leadership success, and strong constituent engagement abilities to UCLA’s storied program. As the Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Revenue Officer, you are responsible for overseeing and optimizing revenue-generating operations and growth through various streams including ticket sales, sponsorships, multimedia rights, licensing and merchandising. You will directly supervise selected administrative areas, serve as a sport administrator and lead departmental initiatives, especially in the areas of revenue generation, communications, marketing, sales and service and resource allocation. You will be responsible for overseeing several senior staff members and assigned coaches, and you will be charged with establishing and maintaining consistent and equitable policies for staff and coaches, and managing various administrative units of the department. You will serve on the DIA executive team and work as a collaborative partner to the Director of the DIA. This executive role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and the development of innovative revenue streams to support the financial health and growth of the department. As Sport Administrator for assigned sport(s), you will insure that the assigned UCLA sport program(s) remains consistently ranked among the top in the country.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min. ten years of progressively increasing experience and responsibility within a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity preferably in a large university or comparable prog. (Preferred)
  • Deep understanding of the college sports landscape and revenue streams, including proven track record of successful revenue growth and management. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of revenue generation, sales, marketing or other related fields within the sports industry. (Required)
  • Skill in financial analysis and budget management. (Required)
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills. (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and familiarity with issues and terminology relating to intercollegiate athletics. (Required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to express the mission and values of the university, and the strategic plan of the University and DIA. (Required)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with External Affairs, DIA, campus leadership, colleagues, key internal and external stakeholders, volunteers and other constituents. (Required)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills. (Required)
  • Skill in the development and leadership of team approaches to goal accomplishment. (Required)
  • Strong management and supervisory skills, including staff recruitment, retention, professional growth, training, and discipline. (Required)
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical and organizational skills to develop and implement creative, credible solutions, and to ability to adapt to changing market conditions. (Required)
  • Knowledge of and willingness to comply with department, University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. (Required)
