POSITION SUMMARY

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is a public, post-secondary institution that provides education and training to those who’ll be there to support British Columbians and others around the world, when a life is at stake or when health, safety or property is in jeopardy. An opportunity now exists to join JIBC as their Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO).Reporting to the Vice-President, Finance & Operations, The Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) is responsible for providing the Institute leadership and financial management. The DCFO applies professional expertise in accounting and business acumen developed through various industry experiences to the role.
As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced finance leader, preferably with experience in a public sector environment. You bring team leadership experience, expert knowledge, and a track record of success in motivating and developing a strong team. You are collaborative and believe in the power of partnering to solve problems. You are a strategic thinker who can translate, communicate, plan, and implement JIBC’s strategic priorities into position responsibilities.
A University degree from a recognized institution (Business or Commerce) combined with a Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) designation, current and in good standing with the CPA Association is required. An MBA is an asset.
The salary range for this position is $134,660 - $179,546.
The Compensation Range shown reflects JIBC’s range for the role: between 85% and 100% of the sector range control point. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between 85% - 94% of the control point, based on the knowledge, qualifications and experience for the role, with exceptions in the 95% - 100% range.
