Description:

The role of the Deputy Regional Chief Midwife is an exciting midwifery leadership role in the Midlands Region to support the Regional Chief Midwife and Regional Consultant Obstetrician. Working to realise the ambitions of the Long-Term Plan and key national maternity priorities, the post holder will work with key stakeholders across the health system to provide strategic leadership and professional guidance regionally. They will hold responsibility for the delivery of key objectives including leading on the maternity workforce and leadership agenda and support programmes of work relating to maternity policy, strategy and professional priorities and the delivery of high quality, safe and personalised health and care across the region. Working as part of a dynamic team engaging with colleagues, managers, senior staff and LMNS Leads across the region to support the provision of personalised, safe evidence based maternity care for all women across the East of England.
Please note that the reason for the fixed term of your contract is to allow a developmental opportunity for the successful candidate for 12 months.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
