Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Decontamination services Manager To support the Decontamination Services Manager in the operational day to day management of the sterile Services department.
Your role will be working closely alongside the DS Manager to help lead, develop and improve the service to ensure that delivery is safe, efficient and cost effective as well as following best practice.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in the field, be health and safety conscious and a strong leader with a positive mindset.

About the role

  • Deputise for the Decontamination Manager, assuming managerial responsibility for meeting the requirements of the services clients and internal customers, collaborating closely with the Clinical Leads and all relevant stakeholders in their absence.
  • Support the delivery of the decontamination and sterilisation process for the Hospital, ensuring that instruments and equipment are appropriately decontaminated and sterilised, and that equipment is maintained in a safe and compliant environment in accordance with national guidelines and the HTM framework.
  • Drive a culture of continual quality improvement, performing and managing internal and external audits. Create, train, manage and support quality and service teams.
  • Work as part of a team providing a controlled decontamination service, reprocessing reusable medical devices.

Skills and experience required

  • Expert knowledge and experience in the decontamination of reusable medical devices.
  • Expert knowledge in line with current decontamination legislation, standards, assurance and guidance.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • City in Guilds in Management of Decontamination Process for Reusable Medical Devices and City in Guilds in Management of Flexible Endoscope Decontamination or willingness to undertake qualifications.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, and acts as a positive role model and team player.
  • Sound computing skills e.g. MS Office Suite.
  • Strong prioritisation skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with ability to work under pressure and progress priorities / competing demands.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and support team working in a positive and challenging culture.
  • Preparation and presentation experience, including of performance, data, reports.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and an even temper in the workplace.
