Description:
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure the good order, morale, discipline and welfare of all personnel under his command.
- Ensure that all personnel comply with orders relating to safety precautions, engineering and maintenance principles with associated documentation (electronic) procedures.
- Ensure adherence to correct engineering practices, observe safety precautions and that as far as is reasonably practicable ensure that no one else is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk.
- Identify any practice, procedure or system that is a threat to safety or quality.
- Ensure the working environment is free from all forms of harassment and discrimination and take appropriate action to deal with perpetrators.
- Nominating personnel for specialist trade courses.
- Ensure that all electronic data systems are utilised correctly within process and adhere to operating procedures.
- Being Point of Contact for all aspects within his area of responsibility for Depth maintenance activities and for the day-to-day monitoring of the industry based shops performance.
- Monitoring of Technical Queries and subsequent resolution.
- Ensure that the equipment operated with the shop is kept in good working condition and any necessary calibration activities are scheduled and conducted to ensure maintenance tasks can be carried out when required.
- Identifying and instigating additional shop capability to support the operation.
- Ensure high standards of shop husbandry are observed and maintained.
- Complying with Health and Safety including, knowledge of COSSH and Risk assessments and following appropriate safety precautions and warning posters relating to the maintenance activities and handling within the shop area of operation.
- Responsible as the SHE and QA co-ordinator for the Depth organisation.
- Completing any other reasonable duties or requests that are made by line management.
- Counterpart development of assigned RSAF personnel.
- Assuming delegated authority for assessing engineering authorisations.
- Deputising for the Depth Support Manager during periods of leave/absence
Responsibilities:
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Job Holder is responsible to the Depth Support Manager as the Typhoon Deputy Depth Support Manager for the management of all engineering activities within the following workshops:-
- Wheel & Tyre Shop
- Air Electrical & Battery Shop
- AGE Shop (Powered & Non-Powered)
- Oxygen Shop
- External Fuel Tank Shop
- Parachute Fabrication
- Armament (Gun and Role)
- Egress
- Weapon Load Standardisation Cell
- Fabrication Branch (Transparencies, CFC and Metallic Structures)
- Component Paint
- Non Destructive Inspection
- Inspection Branch (Aircraft Maintenance Flight)
- Precision Termination Tooling
- Test and Measuring Equipment and Calibration
- Avionics Repair Centre
- Propulsion Facility
The role includes responsibility for all tasks related to the safe operation and continued mobilisation of the workshops and the personnel operating within the workshops to ensure that the associated depth support activities, whether planned maintenance actions or unscheduled arising are progressed to support the operational needs of the Squadron. These will be in accordance with the RSAF Typhoon maintenance policy, relevant publications and the BAE Systems Maintenance Organisation Exposition.
