Description:

We are looking for Deputy Director for learning disability and autism in Brent.
You will also support the delivery of the Neurodiversity agenda within the trust including developing and reviewing pathways and participating in the many different forums, partnership meetings related to the role. This role includes the operational management of Kingswood LD inpatient units, Brent CLDT and the ASD assessment hub within the outer boroughs. Further to this you are part of the Brent Management team leading the LDA agenda and its delivery.
This role will support the neurodiversity lead deliver the neurodiversity agenda across the Trust. With responsibility for driving forward strategic work that aims to ensure the Trust is a neurodiversity aware and inclusive organisation. As well as overseeing the operational management of the specialist Adult inpatient learning disability services, the Autism diagnostic service and community LD services. Further to this you will support the delivery of LDA services within Brent and support relevant agendas within the borough.
The post holder will be the key representative of LDA services to the public, statutory and voluntary organisations. This includes working with internal and external partners across the ICBs and National teams as necessary and delivery and development, planning & meaningful co-production. The post holder needs to be dedicated to partnership working and appreciate the value community partnerships, including with VCSE, can bring to statutory health and care services.
This role is a permanent position in the role and consider its full roles and responsibilities following the promotion of the existing post holder.

Operational Delivery
Oversight and responsibility for the delivery of specialist learning disability inpatient services that provide person-centred, high quality and clinically safe care that is integrated within the local community
Delivery of services that respond to challenge set out in the NHS Long Term Plan and other national policy (e.g. Building the Right Support action plan, Transforming Care) by delivering purposeful care in the community that reduces avoidable admissions and support care closer to home
Oversight of delivery of initiatives that aim to develop more needs-led all age autism diagnostic pathways including pre-& post diagnosis support
Ensuring clinical safety and effectiveness through completion of risk assessment and management plans within agreed timescale and service delivery in line with evidence-based practice. Ensuring standards within the service meet the regulatory standards
Ensuring services are clinically effective through monitoring of appropriate outcome measures and service user and carer experience
Present a positive face of Trust LDA services to external bodies
Ensure performance standards are met and create and maintain a performance management culture at individual staff member, team, service and directorate level
Contribute to the development of a culture within services overseen of innovation, quality and service improvement.
