Salary Range: $6,408 - $8,330 Monthly

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and self-directed individual for the position of Deputy Director of Personnel at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre. Reporting to the Director and as an integral part of the senior management team you are responsible for the human resources and personnel matters relating to Prince Albert Correctional Centre employees. Your excellent communication skills will serve you well as you provide coaching, support and direction to the middle and peer senior manager teams while promoting effective and positive industrial relations in a union environment. You will provide leadership in, and make formal presentations at meetings on subjects pertaining to human resources matters and labor relations.
You will be responsible for and provide oversight for: facility wide recruitment, coordinate/respond/resolve grievances, investigations, and interact daily with internal and external stakeholders. The position leads local personnel initiatives including: Attendance Support, Probationary Reviews for new staff and Internal Work Performance reviews with front line staff.
Your post secondary degree in a related field or comparable experience, training, and/or certification will compliment your knowledge of human resources principles and practices, the purpose and framework of a collective agreement in a unionized environment and knowledge of the Canadian justice and correctional systems. Preference will be given to candidates that have leadership work experiences within a large correctional operation.
