Description:

We are recruiting for a Deputy Director of Pharmacy Services within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). This is a new role providing an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with extensive knowledge and a proven track record of delivering NHS Pharmacy Services. The postholder will deputise across NWSSP Pharmacy Services in the Director’s absence.
Our new Deputy Director for Pharmacy Service will be a registered professional with experience of strategy development and management of change and modernisation processes across a range of complex environments. They will already command respect and have a proven track record of communicating and engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including Welsh Government. They will need to have in depth experience of financial management systems.
As a key member of a senior management team driving massive change across NHS Wales, we need our new Deputy Director of Pharmacy Services to demonstrate the highest level of professional expertise and leadership in developing a shared vision within NWSSP Pharmacy Services and academic communities to achieve buy-in and commitment, and engage, lead and develop our talented and skilled workforce to grow and realise their full potential as part of that.
The Deputy Director will support the Director of Pharmacy Services in providing leadership and strategic management, deputising across NWSSP Pharmacy Services in their absence.
They will play a major role in delivering the Transforming Access to Medicines Programme (TrAMs). They will have responsibility for directing and enforcing standardisation of approach, systems and processes across the three manufacturing hubs and any satellite operations. They will work closely with the National Quality, Clinical and Regional Leads to ensure all proposed business \ service developments are progressive, responsive to internal and external demand, patient focussed, safe, efficient and effective, and meet regulatory compliance.
The Deputy Director will be responsible for designing, monitoring and ensuring delivery of service key performance indicators (KPIs) and will manage the effective participation of Pharmacy Services in a range of service development initiatives.
They will be responsible for all aspects of the pharmacy workforce plan which will include developing and maintaining a long-term strategic vision for Education and Training within Pharmacy Services so that the workforce continues to meet patient needs, and ensuring that there is an updated risk management plan for Education and Training.
