Description:
A full-time pharmacist post working as a deputy Divisional Lead Pharmacist in the Healthcare of the Elderly (HCOP) team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to invest in a specialist clinical pharmacist to work as deputy divisional lead within the HCOP team within the Trust. This individual will undergo training to enable them to provide a high standard of clinical pharmacy support to a number of high-risk medication areas. Although primarily based on the Kings Mill Hospital site our Trust also covers Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital so there may be a requirement on occasions to cover on these sites.
Our pharmacy department is committed to the training and development of all staff and as part of this post you will be given the opportunity to gain experience in the various domains of the RPS Professional Standards for Hospital Pharmacy Services in order to develop the skills and knowledge required to progress your career further. You will also be given the opportunity to gain an independent prescribing qualification and will be supported to use this skill at ward level. You will help further develop the pharmacy service within this broad clinical area with opportunities to participate in a wide range of tasks such as:
lead a team of pharmacists and MMTs within the division.
participate in specialist clinical governance meetings within the division as a deputy to the divisional lead.
provide training to non-pharmacy staff within the division
risk assessment for safe medicines practice,
input into relevant clinical guidelines,
clinical audit,
medicines expenditure analysis.
