JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Finance at the Dangote Cement Obajana, Kogi State.
As the Deputy Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing the finance function to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations. In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and collaborate closely with other departments within the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Finance in strategic financial planning and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Drive the implementation of approved finance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes and ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for management.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to improve financial performance.
  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments on financial assessment of projects and business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
  • Optimize the utilization of financial resources and identify strategies for cost efficiency.
  • Identify and manage financial risks to prevent revenue leakage.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities and consultants.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, challenges, and opportunities related to finance and accounting.
