Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated educator to join our leadership team as the Deputy Head of the Preparatory School. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of students in Grades 1-7 and demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. This role requires a strong focus on restorative justice practices, student support, and academic accommodations, ensuring every child receives the best possible education and care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Student Support and Development:
  • Provide leadership in addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of students throughout Grades 1-7.
  • Implement and advocate for restorative justice practices as a key approach to discipline and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee and manage the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) responsibilities, ensuring that academic accommodations are effectively provided for students who require them.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to address academic pastoral needs across all grades, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Team Leadership and Staff Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of educators, demonstrating insight and a proven track record in team management.
  • Offer support and skills development opportunities for staff, promoting continuous professional growth and enhancing teaching practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Preparatory School Management and Leadership teams to achieve school goals and uphold the school’s values.
  • Curriculum and Extramural Involvement:
  • Identify and act on opportunities for growth and enhancement within the curriculum, ensuring it remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of students.
  • Become fully involved in the extramural programme, contributing to a well-rounded educational experience for students.
  • Communication and Organisation:
  • Exhibit excellent organisational and communication skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions with students, parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative and transparent environment within the school community, promoting positive relationships and open dialogue.
