JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Austin Rose Care Home in providing exceptional care within our care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for senior care, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care. This role involves supervising staff, managing daily operations, and developing care plans tailored to the needs of our residents, including those requiring dementia care.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a nursing home or similar senior care setting is essential.
  • A background in home care or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of dementia care practices and the ability to manage challenging behaviours compassionately.
  • Proven leadership skills with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff alike.
  • A nursing qualification is preferred but not mandatory; however, relevant experience in senior care management is crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the nursing home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in assisted living.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, providing guidance and training as necessary to enhance their professional development.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement comprehensive care plans for residents, focusing on individual needs and preferences.
  • Manage staffing levels and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and quality of care at all times.
  • Foster a positive environment that promotes resident well-being and dignity while encouraging family involvement in care processes.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident health and well-being, adjusting care plans as required based on observations and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care, incidents, and staff performance to ensure transparency and accountability.
