Description:

THE JOB ITSELF

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Day Care Manager to work term time in our busy Day Nursery. We offer childcare places to children between the ages of 2-5 years from 9am – 4pm.
Kingsway Childcare is an extremely busy setting and you would be expected to work at a fast pace and to a high standard, however you will receive full support from knowledgeable practitioners and coaching from your Manager as you settle into a very welcoming team.
You should hold at least a Level 3 Childcare qualification and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the parents/carers.
You should be capable of taking over the running of the setting in the event of the Manager not being available or having to attend meetings.
You need to be able to support other staff during their working day with all aspects of their job role, and lead good practice within the setting.
You will support a safe and stimulating learning environment for children and their carer’s and demonstrates a good understanding of how to motivate and engage children with their development and learning.
You will need to identify possible child protection issues and take appropriate action in accordance with the nursery policies.
You will ensure as part of a team that a high quality enabling environment is maintained.
You should have experience of supporting parents and an understanding of, and commitment to, working with parents as first educators of their children.
You will act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
You will have knowledge and experience of observation, assessment and planning within the EYFS.
You will have good communication and listening skills and the ability to inspire and empower people.
