Description:
SALARY: UP TO £41,000
Location: Moy, Dungannon
Reporting to: Store Manager
Status: Full-time/Permanent
Hours: Working 5 days over 7, contracted 40 hours per week between store opening hours (6.00am-10.00pm - You will be expected to work 1 Weekend in 3)
Holidays: 28 days
This is an exciting and challenging role within a very successful and well established Convenience Supermarket Chain store, who always guarantee to deliver quality food and service.
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Operations Deputy Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall management of the store, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent time management, and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and customers. The Deputy Manager will also be responsible for driving sales and enhancing customer satisfaction through exceptional service and organisational skills. The successful candidate will proactively drive tactical excellence in stock ordering, receiving, replenishment, merchandising, pricing resource planning, value added services and quality assurance.
KEY ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Must be an experienced Retail Manager.
- Demonstrate strong experience in managing a dynamic team in a similar environment.
- Be an excellent leader with the ability to coach and develop individuals and teams.
- Have a strong understanding of how to lead and deliver a company strategy, with the ability to implement in store to drive strong performance results.
- Ability to work at pace and react to the changing needs of the customer.
- ·Thrive in a team centred approach with strong collaborative working.
- Have a passion for keeping up to date with your own learning and development.
- Be digitally savvy and comfortable with navigating and embracing technology.
- Must be sales driven and bring high energy to the team.
- Previous Store Management experience within Spar, Eurospar, Centra, Mace, Supervalu brands OR similar Convenience Stores.
- Commercial awareness of the convenience Food sector and demonstrate an ability to utilise that knowledge to the benefit of the business.
- Confident use of data to make logical business decisions.
- Experience of effectively managing targets and controlling costs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
As an Operations Duty Manager within the business the successful candidate will be responsible for leading, directing and managing their direct team and store team on Duty Management. Ensure consistently high levels of service, profitability and compliance are delivered. Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver on Key Performance Indicators such as sales, margin, inventory management and legal compliance. Coach, Develop and Manage the team to ensure they have the skill set required to fully deliver on their job profiles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To develop and implement effective and focused sales strategies via business weekly sales planner and previous sales records
- To drive long-term profitability of the business especially around stock loss.
- Manage promotional activity to drive sales and footfall. Maximising sales opportunities at Key event & seasonal calendar
- Achieve the forecasted gross profit and wage cost percentage levels
- Maintain outstanding store condition, merchandising standards and general store performance on Duty Management shifts through effective support and challenge
- Manage product storage, stock levels, rotation, waste and reductions & adhere to Reflex system requirements
- Develop rota deployment for operations and strive for improved business efficiencies while managing your team work life balance and effective holiday planning
- Complete store administration and always ensure strict compliance on policies and procedures
- Conduct appraisals to access training needs and build career paths
- To train, coach and develop your team, maximising individual performance
- Manage daily activities of employees to improve sales and performance
- ·To provide focused and motivated leadership
- Contribute ideas towards marketing concepts focusing on Target market, Customer needs, Integrated Marketing and Profitability
- Ensure the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation
- Working with and training all employees to manage, monitor and improve health and safety standards in the workplace
- Respond to complaints from customers and employees
