Exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer with an interest in people management to join our Broadmeadows team in the position of Deputy Managing Lawyer.
- Full time ongoing position (part-time applications considered)
- Salary range: $111,263 - $123,624 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

Responsibilities:
Join Victoria Legal Aid’s Broadmeadows team as a Deputy Managing Lawyer, providing operational leadership and expert legal services across criminal, family, and civil law with a focus on criminal law and family violence. You’ll manage a team of legal staff, mentor junior lawyers, and deliver high-quality legal services, including complex casework and court advocacy.
Working alongside the Regional Manager, you will provide operational management and legal supervision for the Broadmeadows legal team predominantly across Criminal Law, and also Family Law, Child Protection and Civil Law matters. You will mentor staff and support the development and training of lawyers within the team.
Broadmeadows is also home to a range of innovative therapeutic justice approaches, including the Specialist Children’s Court, Specialist Family Violence Court and Koori Court, offering a great opportunity to develop your professional career within VLA.
This role is based at our Broadmeadows office on Wurundjeri Country.
