Contract: 12-month Maternity Cover (with potential for permanent position)
We are looking for a motivated, driven, and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our vibrant team in Horsforth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional with a passion for early years education and leadership to support our Nursery Manager and lead a dedicated team in delivering outstanding care and education to our children.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management position within a nursery or similar childcare setting.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve effectively.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, maintaining a high standard of care and education while adhering to regulatory and safeguarding guidelines. You’ll be a hands-on leader, supporting staff, fostering positive relationships with parents, and ensuring the nursery meets all operational, educational, and financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the management and delivery of the nursery’s operational and educational objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of early years practitioners.
  • Ensure that the nursery meets all safeguarding and regulatory standards.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a nurturing, welcoming environment.
  • Take responsibility for managing staffing, budgets, and resource allocation where necessary.
  • Assist with planning and implementing effective educational programs for the children.
  • Be proactive in identifying areas for development and driving improvements across the nursery.
