Description:

Supporting the operational delivery of the People Operations (Workforce/HR) service, these 2 posts hold lead roles for the service either supporting the oversight and management of Employment Relations casework/conflict resolution/performance management advice and guidance, or leading on key development projects including process improvement work, Job evaluation, Policy development, and maintaining traction and oversight of the Trust’s new approach to Supporting Attendance/casework whilst ensuring staff are supported to stay well at work.
The Deputy People Partner roles work in partnership with the People Business Partners, People Advisors, Trainee People Advisors, People Officers, and People Administrator to ensure that collectively we provide a comprehensive service to all our staff across all elements of employment whilst then ensuring we offer a great staff experience for our service users.

Employee relations / Case Management operational workstream Lead
Responsible for the oversight of employee relations casework and associated key performance indicators.
This role will oversee the allocation of case work to People the People Operations team and brief People Business Partners regarding cases, and escalate concerns where appropriate. The post holder will offer support and expert HR advice and guidance on a range of HR / Workforce matters.
The post holder will co-ordinate and chair weekly case review meetings, and manage quality assurance across all case management to support consistency across cases.
Projects/Policy Development/Supporting Attendance workstream Lead
Responsible for providing oversight and project management support on service/process developments to improve how we work and streamlining to improve staff experience.

THIS POST HOLDER WILL:

Actively lead on the review of all HR policies/procedures to ensure they remain in line with current employment legislation and Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.
Lead on overseeing the delivery of case management including supporting attendance (with the direct support of the People Business Partners, People Advisors, People Officers) and coordinate a training offer for all existing or new to management post holders about case management and critical success factors to maintain a healthy workplace for all.
Oversee the Trust’s job evaluation process/practises and ensure job evaluation panels are scheduled timely so no adverse impact on service delivery/recruitment and onboarding plans.
Coordinate deep dive audit reviews across areas of concern (such as areas with low attendance and fluctuating absence levels)

Staff Management - Generic
The Deputy People Partners are responsible for the line management of the People Advisors/Trainee People Advisors/People Officers that fall within their portfolio. This also includes day-to-day management, appraisals, performance management, well-being conversations, disciplinary conduct, personal development and all other line management responsibilities.
Deputise for People Business Partners - Generic
Where appropriate, deputise for People Business Partners at relevant meetings and forums in times of absence or for exposure to developmental opportunities.
Education/Training
Provide training solutions to support service needs, including organisational development support, REACT training and bespoke training where needs are identified.
Service Development
Use of UHCWi tools to support developments within the department, streamlining existing practices and processes as well as innovating new ones. Team and individual coaching on HR process and practices where training needs identified in group. Development of toolkits to upskill managers and assist the first line response team to triage queries effectively and support the People Manager task group (responsible for onboarding process of new and existing managers).
Other Duties
Authorised signatory for amendments and terminations within their portfolio.
Maintain HR records systems (ESR and Selenity).
There is an expectation as part of the role to support team role cross cover during planned leave.
