THE GI DIVISION IS A LARGE DIVISION WHICH INCLUDES:
- Large endoscopy department
- 4 inpatient wards (72 beds in total)
- Specialist nutrition service
- Bariatric services
- Bowel screening services
- Intestinal Bowel Disease (IBD)
- Upper and lower GI surgery
- Vascular surgery
- General surgery including thyoid.
Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a motivated experienced band 6 nurse who has a passion for nursing to join our GI inpatient senior leadership team as a Deputy Sr/CN.
As a deputy Sr/CN you are also a team leader with responsibility for a team of nurses and health care assistants. This is the ideal position for somebody wishing to progress their career, enhance their leadership and managerial skills and join a very friendly motivated team.
T09N/C are non-elective GI wards and no day is the same, so if you are looking to further your career get in contact.
At UCLH there are 4 Gastro-Intestinal (GI) inpatient wards located across two floors (T09N/C & T07N/C) delivering care to both medical and surgical GI patients. Our GI wards offer huge potential for individuals’ professional development, such as enhancing leadership skills, mentorship and coaching, as well as practical experience managing complex patient care.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WHO:
- Provides compassionate, competent care for a case load of patients and able take charge of the ward on a day to day basis
- Supports the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse with effective leadership, staff support and ward improvement projects
- Have proof of mentorship qualification and a commitment to teaching, mentoring and developing students and staff.
- Uses excellent communication skills to benefit patients and the MDT
- Demonstrates UCLH Trust values through leadership, MDT working with colleagues, patients and their families.
