Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
We are looking to appoint a dynamic, hardworking, and enthusiastic individual to join the School of Civil, Aerospace and Design Engineering as Deputy Student Administration Manager (DSAM). This is an exciting opportunity on a fixed term contract ending July 2025, to play an active role in the management of student administration and education processes related to undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes within the School. The successful candidate will work alongside the Student Administration Manager (SAM), Deputy Student Administration Manager (Process) and Deputy Student Administration Manager (Student Experience) and other DSAM’s across the Engineering Schools, as well as line manage members of the Student Administration Team. The role is varied, fast paced and would suit a candidate who enjoys collaborative working, has a high standard of interpersonal skills, and is looking to broaden their management experience within education administration or looking to take a first step into a managerial role within a School Team.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
You will be working with a team of DSAM’s, administrators and academics, playing a pivotal role in ensuring students receive consistently high-quality administrative support during their studies. As part of the student administration leadership team, you will deputise for the Student Administration Manager when required and will take an active role in developing and enhancing existing processes within the School, as well as supporting team members that you line manage and the wider team.
This role requires an individual to be both a manager and a team player, and to have the ability to balance both individual and team workloads. The ability to take initiative and be proactive is key – as is the ability to seek out and make improvements to a process.
We are seeking someone able to work in partnership with academic and professional services staff to drive forward change and deliver effective, efficient processes, yet be flexible and adaptable to different situations. A strong commitment to Equality and Diversity is vital.
The successful candidate will be a part of the student administration management team and have line management responsibility while also working within a wider School Professional Services Team.
