Description:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE DEPUTY TEAM LEADER - AVIONICS:
- Experience of/ or an understanding of reporting deficiencies in maintenance data/documentation via the appropriate method (IEDB, (Interactive engineering database) TPRF (technical publication rectification form), QOR (Quality occurrence report), F760 (Occurrence reporting form) requirements
- Evidence of previously managing the communication of maintenance updates, safety briefings and company notices through the medium of WSUM/DSUM (Weekly/daily start up meetings).
- Previous experience of delivery of maintenance schedule updates, technical knowledge, and resource utilisation rates via digital platforms in a concise, accurate and timely manner.
- Experience and / or understanding of Contributing to maintenance planning forums to ensure that assets are delivered to forward and depth maintenance departments on time, identifying risks to the schedule and sourcing suitable recovery solutions.
- Extensive engineering trade experience, including previous supervisory experience.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DEPUTY TEAM LEADER - AVIONICS:
- Training in relevant discipline Mechanical/Electrical to City and Guilds Level or level 3 equivalent (completed an apprenticeship)

THE ROLE
As a Deputy Team Leader - Avionics, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the coordination of scheduled and unscheduled support bay avionic and electrical maintenance activities and the supporting administrative duties within the department including Output Reporting,
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all support bay avionic/electrical maintenance activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner, delivered in line with the maintenance programme and to the standard laid down in the approved maintenance data.
- Lead Avionic/electrical trade development at RAF Valley, supporting apprentices, developing new and existing staff knowledge through both theoretical and practical methodology and contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching/instructing materials.
- Ensuring that all maintenance equipment, spares, and tooling are serviceable and available to maintenance staff.
- Ensuring that all quality management system processes are robustly adhered to including tool control, staff competence and maintenance recording.
- Ensuring that support bay avionic/electrical maintenance activities documentation is completed via the approved maintenance record, checking for accuracy, completeness and referenced to approved maintenance data.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Valley.
