Deputy Treasurer

• Collaborate with the Treasurer to manage the growing debt funding programme, currently $3.2bn.
• Lead Transpower’s Green Financing Framework and annual reporting
• Engage with investors and oversee risk management for debt and foreign exchange

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone with substantial financial market experience who thrives in a leadership role. Your experience in managing debt and investment portfolios, along with your understanding of treasury products, will empower you to deliver results in a dynamic environment.

You will bring:

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial markets and senior positions
• Excellent negotiation, written, and oral communication skills
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to nurture cross-business relationships
• Proficiency in financial applications such as Bloomberg and GTreasury
• Expertise in managing capital market instruments, risk management products, and financial strategies

Additional skills that will enhance your application:

• Strong working knowledge of risk monitoring and management
• An understanding of insurance markets and rating agency requirements
• Ability to interpret regulatory parameters and assess alternative hedge strategies

In this role, you will also:

• Serve as the Treasurer’s delegate when required
• Oversee cash and currency risk management
• Lead the documentation of debt programmes and liaise with external legal advisors and banks
• Contribute to treasury policy updates and strategic treasury project
