Description:

This is an exciting new senior leadership role which provides direct support and leadership to teams with advanced practice roles across the specialties and the important role of NMP Lead. This includes Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs), Advanced Specialist Practitioners (ASP)s, non-medical consultants (NMC) and Non-medical prescribers (NMP). Working in conjunction with the trust lead for advanced practice, and clinical teams. The post holders will further develop the advanced practice programme throughout the trust, and will support liaison with the three other providers across the ICS to establish their progress and development of the advanced practice framework. As NMP Lead the post holder will provide leadership, implement and maintain a robust governance framework for prescribers in line with regulations and local policies.
The role requires excellent communication skills, experience of working in an advanced practice setting, flexibility of hours and some travel between sites. You will be expected to maintain a clinical caseload of hours in order to maintain your own advanced practice skills. In return, you will be part of supportive team that is galvanising change at pace in advanced practice, seeing opportunities in real time to progress new roles and services for our patients.
This is a permanent position that involves working as Deputy Trust Lead for Advanced Practice and NMP Lead.
As a Deputy Trust Lead you will provide professional leadership to all trainee and qualified APs within this trust. This will involve providing clinical and professional guidance and supporting Group leaders to implement suitable workforce plans. You will implement and maintain a governance framework for ACP that enables safe, effective delivery of care, providing assurance of the Advanced Practice Workforce and Lead for Non-Medical Prescribing.
You will design and implement a strategy which is ambitious but achievable enabling the Trust to provide excellent care to our local population and be a leading employer. This will require an individual with in-depth knowledge of the national and local agenda who will participate in national
forums, provide teaching and training and help shape AP education by working with academic staff and health education providers.

  • NMP Lead - provide leadership, implement and maintain a robust governance framework for prescribers in line with regulations and local policies
  • Provide professional leadership to ACPs across the Trust.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the Trusts Advanced Practice strategy, achieving a highly functioning, cohesive group of ACPs able

to successfully deliver in-line with Trust objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with Group leaders to support workforce planning within Advanced Practice.
  • Work in partnership with health education providers to develop appropriate advanced practice curricula which are suitable for the

requirements of the future workforce.

  • Implement and maintain robust governance arrangements in-line with statutory and regulatory standards surrounding Advanced

Practice.

  • Working with Group leadership teams, to implement appropriate recruitment standards for ACPs.
  • Keep fully abreast of all local, national and international developments within Advanced Practice and ensure appropriate developments

are implemented and communicated with the wider organisation
