Birkbeck, University of London, is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation) to become a part of our Senior Leadership Team. This crucial role entails formulating and advancing our strategies in research, knowledge exchange, and innovation, thereby ensuring our continued prominence in academic excellence.

As the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation), you will be responsible for:

• Develop and implement Birkbeck’s long-term research strategy.
• Maximise research performance and oversee high-quality submissions for the REF.
• Provide leadership and direction for Birkbeck researchers, staff, and students.
• Ensure the highest standards of research governance and integrity.
• Oversee commercialisation and impact generation of research.
• Support faculty Heads in developing research activities with significant economic impact.
• Lead the implementation of the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF).
• Chair the College’s Innovation and Commercialisation Board.
• Manage all staff within the research, innovation, and knowledge exchange functions.
