Description:

There has never been a better time to come and work in Acute Medicine at Nottingham University Hospitals.
Ward B3 is a busy acute medicine admission unit. We recommend having at least 2 years of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting to apply to this role. You will be expected to lead and coordinate shifts, liaising with both our nursing team and our wider hospital Multi-Disciplinary Team. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who also has the clinical skills to support our nursing team and give direct patient care. You must be able to work well under pressure as no two days are ever the same. B3 is a fast-paced environment, and a very rewarding place to work.
In addition to the brief list above you must familiarise yourself with the full job description and person specification attached to this advert prior to applying.
On B3 we pride ourselves on our work ethic, teamwork and support networks. Although we are a big unit, no-one is ever left to feel isolated and we have received great feedback from nursing staff, students and other external disciplines.
We take patients directly from ED under a variety of different specialties including - but not limited to - gastro, cardiology, neurology and infectious diseases. The post holder will gain great insight and experience into the patient’s journey with a wide variety of different types of patients.
B3 also has a dedicated clinical educator team, in association with DREEAM, who - along with the other members of the management team - are here to support staff in this busy environment.
Please refer to the job description and person specification attached to the advert for the full details of the vacancy.
Act as the deputy to the ward sister regularly taking charge of the ward and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard.
Be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care and use experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.
Work flexibly as a member of the ward team and in support of the Ward Sister to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
Utilises and integrates evidence into practice.
