Description:

Main Purpose:
The main purpose of our Derivatives Analyst team is to manage the entire lifecycle of Over The Counter and Exchange-traded derivatives. The team’s primary responsibility is to lead and oversee margin and collateral requirements for Bilateral transactions which are covered by ISDA.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

  • Degree educated or equivalent in numerate discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Finance.
  • Understanding of financial markets and trading businesses, both exchange traded and over the counter markets.
  • Working knowledge on Derivatives (Power, Gas, Energy) and/or physical commodities.
  • Working knowledge and direct Middle/Back Office experience in full Lifecycle of futures, OTC, and cleared derivative products.
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Familiarity with Allegro is a plus
  • Understanding of International Swap & Derivatives Association (ISDA) and CSA’s standards is preferred.
  • Fast learner and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally and cross culturally.
  • Proven ability to partner with global stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor trades from initiation to completion, ensuring all stages of the trade life cycle are managed efficiently.
  • Perform Derivative settlements and draft and review Confirmations.
  • OTC Collateral management and ISO (Independent System Operators) margining.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with margining and collateral.
  • Handle disputes related to margin calculations and collateral exchanges, ensuring timely resolution of the disputes with Counterparties.
  • Analyze exposure and M2M profit and loss on physical/derivative portfolios.
  • Work with internal departments, external counterparties and exchanges to resolve discrepancies on trades.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting duties in a timely manner.
  • Inform the Treasury and Finance teams of the daily Cash and LC movements.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to regularly improve internal processes and systems with IT.

  • Internal: Traders, Deals Desk, Treasury, Accounting, Credit, IT, Project Team, etc
  • External – ISO Regulators, Counterparties, Brokers, Exchanges, etc
